Hall.<\/em><\/p><h3><strong>Subdivision permit<\/strong><\/h3><p>Any cadastral operation, i.e. any division, subdivision, resubdivision or new division, replacement, correction, correction with creation of one or more lots, cancellation, correction, addition or replacement of lot numbers, carried out under the Cadastre Act (R.S.Q. chapter c-1) or articles 3021, 3029, 3030, 3043 or 3045 of the Civil Code, is prohibited without first obtaining a subdivision permit.<\/p><p>To consult Subdivision By-law No. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cantondehatley.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2024-07-Reglement-de-lotissement-2024-12-04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024-07<\/a><\/span>\u00a0, see the construction or modification of a low wall or retaining wall if an engineer is required for its design, are prohibited without a building permit.<\/p><p>Here are the main documents that must be submitted to the municipality to obtain a building permit:<\/p><ul><li>Site plan<\/li><li>Plans, elevations, cross-sections, sketches and specifications required for a clear understanding of the project<\/li><li>Work specifications<\/li><\/ul><p>Other documents may be required depending on the type and location of the project.<\/p><p>For a complete list of information and documents, please href=\"https:\/\/cantondehatley.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2024-10-Reglement-de-permis-et-certificats-2024-12-04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024-10<\/a>, section 25<\/span>.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>*Please note that certain permits may be required in addition to the building permit application. no. <u><a href=\"https:\/\/cantondehatley.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2024-10-Reglement-de-permis-et-certificats-2024-12-04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024-10<\/a><\/u>, section 33.<\/p><p>Certain maintenance and repair work on a building is exempt from the requirement to obtain a certificate of authorization, provided that the foundations, partitions and framework are not modified or the floor area and volume are not increased, and that the work in question does not require the intervention of a plumber or electrician.<\/p><p>For a complete list of work not requiring a href=\"https:\/\/cantondehatley.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2024-10-Reglement-de-permis-et-certificats-2024-12-04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024-10<\/a>, section 21<\/span>.<\/p><h3><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=1dXTOmsaJ06lx1hpSZ1JBXyMDeOYfcpDsemRe-kkdO9UOU5EUkc4QVNaRVgwTFc1VzFZV0dJTFdNWC4u\" target=\"_blank\" installation<\/strong><\/h3><p>Any project to build or modify a septic system requires a certificate of authorization.<\/p><p>Here are the main documents that must be submitted to the geothermal energy system is prohibited without a certificate of authorization.<\/p><p>Here are the main documents that must be submitted to the municipality:<\/p><ul><li>A site plan<\/li><li>A work underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cantondehatley.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2024-10-Reglement-de-permis-et-certificats-2024-12-04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024-10<\/a>, section driveway between a street and a building<\/strong><\/h3><p>The construction of a driveway or access road to a property or parking area is prohibited without a certificate of authorization.<\/p><p>For 44<\/span>.<\/p><p>Please refer to Section 129 of Zoning By-law No. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cantondehatley.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2024-06-Reglement-de-zonage-2024-12-18.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024-06<\/a><\/span> before planning any work on steep or very steep slopes.<\/p><h3><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=1dXTOmsaJ06lx1hpSZ1JBXyMDeOYfcpDsemRe-kkdO9UOFQwSEdTWkhaWkM0S0pDQzZJUUc2M0ZXWS4u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #006da2;\"><em>Application form<\/em><\/span><\/a><\/h3><hr \/><h3><strong>\u00a0<br \/><\/strong>Certificate of authorization for the construction, installation or replacement of a pool or spa and the installation of a structure giving or preventing access to a pool<\/h3><p>The construction, installation or replacement of a pool or spa, or the installation of a structure giving or preventing access to a pool, is prohibited without a certificate of authorization.<\/p><p>For a complete list of information and documents to be href=\"https:\/\/cantondehatley.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2024-10-Reglement-de-permis-et-certificats-2024-12-04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024-10<\/a>, section href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=1dXTOmsaJ06lx1hpSZ1JBXyMDeOYfcpDsemRe-kkdO9UODVKOTk0UVNTSjRXSzBUOEQ2QjNZQk1GVC4u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #006da2;\"><em>Application form<\/em><\/span><\/a><\/h3><hr \/><h3><strong>\u00a0<br \/><\/strong><strong>Certificates of authorization for works, constructions and structures on the shores of lakes and watercourses, in wetlands, on the shoreline and in flood-prone areas<\/strong><\/h3><p>All works, constructions and structures on or above the shores of lakes and watercourses, in wetlands, in and above the littoral zone and in and above flood zones are prohibited without a certificate of authorization.
