Urban Planning Advisory Committee (CCU)<\/strong><\/h3>

Governed by Regulation 2021-11 concerning the Urban Planning Advisory Committee (CCU), this committee studies and analyzes issues related to urban planning and land use in order to make recommendations to the municipal council.<\/p>

Among the issues dealt with by the CCU are minor exemption requests. A minor exemption is an exception to the application of certain regulations. The committee analyzes these requests according to established criteria in order to make a recommendation to the council, which decides whether to accept them.<\/p>

The CCU also regularly processes permit or certificate of authorization applications submitted by owners whose buildings are located in an area affected by regulations relating to site planning and architectural integration, such as residential construction or renovations in certain zones, or work located in a steep slope area (15-30%).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Demolition Committee<\/strong><\/h3>

Governed by Regulation 2023-34 on the demolition of buildings, this committee aims to oversee the demolition of buildings, protect buildings of heritage value, and regulate the reuse of land cleared following the complete or partial demolition of a building.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Capital Assets and Infrastructure Committee<\/strong><\/h3>

This committee, established in 2025, is responsible for reviewing plans for projects involving municipal land and buildings, as well as roads and other public infrastructure. It examines most capital expenditures, whether they involve work on municipal buildings, vehicle purchases, or investments in the road network.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Environment Committee<\/strong><\/h3>

This committee was established in 2005 to promote environmental awareness and has initiated several projects over the years. Examples include the glass recycling container and the annual distribution of trees and compost. Among other things, this committee is responsible for analyzing and proposing actions to the municipal council aimed at protecting natural environments and implementing environmental projects.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Age-Friendly Municipality Committee (MADA)<\/strong><\/h3>

To create a respectful and dynamic living environment that supports the active participation of seniors and meets their needs.<\/strong><\/p>

The MADA committee, established in 2018, is mandated to make recommendations to the council regarding the MADA action plan and related activities. More specifically, it has initiated various projects, such as conferences and workshops on topics affecting seniors (fraud, abuse, driving, memory, technological support), as well as obtaining a $100,000 grant for the construction of the multifunctional pavilion.<\/p>

The Age-Friendly Municipality (MADA) initiative aims to adapt policies, services, and structures that affect the built and social environments in order to create conditions that optimize opportunities for active aging. The program is affiliated with the World Health Organization.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Cultural Committee<\/strong><\/h3>

To promote art, local culture, and create events that bring people together.<\/strong><\/p>

This committee, established in 2024, is responsible for making recommendations on all matters related to the cultural development of the Municipality.\u00a0 The municipality wishes to encourage support for the organization and implementation of activities that enrich the cultural life of the community. In particular, the municipality supports the activities of local organizations such as the Ensemble Vocal Massawippi, Arts-cultures Massawippi, the Townships Sun, and the organization of the National Holiday celebrations.
