Work on McFarland and Université Roads – Culvert Replacement
As part of the ongoing road repair work on McFarland and Université Roads, the Municipality would like to inform residents of upcoming work to replace cross culverts, which will require complete road closures:
- Monday, September 21, and Tuesday, September 22: McFarland Road – replacement of a culvert (near street number 11)
- Wednesday, September 23, and Thursday, September 24: University Road – replacement of a culvert (near street number 102)
During these projects, local traffic and access to businesses in the area will remain possible via either end of the work zone. However, these projects are likely to cause more significant delays and have a greater impact on traffic. Flaggers will be on site to ensure safety and facilitate traffic flow.
Road repair work will then continue on Université Road until October 2 and on McFarland Road until October 16, 2026, according to the scheduled timeline. Only local traffic and access to businesses will be permitted until the work is completed.
We ask road users to allow extra time for their trips and to follow all traffic signs and the instructions of traffic controllers.

The Municipality would like to inform you that road repair work will be carried out from September 8 to October 16, 2026, on McFarland Road and Université Road. During this period, traffic may be slowed or disrupted in the affected areas.
McFarland Road
The work will include a complete rehabilitation of the road structure, the repair and replacement of cross culverts, and the repaving of the section of the road under the Municipality’s jurisdiction.
Université Road
The work will include rehabilitation of the road structure, milling of the existing pavement, and resurfacing of the roadway. This first phase will restore the road structure and ensure its safety. In accordance with Resolution 26-08-14.06, the Municipality plans to pave Université Road within a reasonable timeframe.
Residents directly affected by the work will soon receive a notice detailing the expected impacts on traffic, including detour routes. Emergency services and school authorities have also been notified.
Council invites you to a public meeting regarding the road work on McFarland and Université Roads on Tuesday, September 8, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Council meeting Hall at 4765 Capelton Road.
