Day camp canceled

The Municipality of the Canton of Hatley cancels the 2020 summer day camp due to the many constraints and health measures related to COVID-19.

In fact, a guide published for day camp managers contains a series of constraints, including a significant reduction in the ratios in the groups and a list of rules to follow. Note in particular the following rules: at all times, a distance of two meters must be ensured between participants; outdoor activities should be preferred and physical contact, such as contact sports, should be avoided.

All these requirements made it difficult to ensure the safety of children and employees. Our human and physical resources do not allow us to comply with all the rules while offering a quality experience to children at the same time.

The municipality regrets the inconvenience caused by this cancellation. It is hoped that the day camp will be back next year to provide a great experience for children.

Refund of camp surcharge

As the day camp is canceled, the municipal surcharge associated with registration for the day camp in another city is eligible, in 2020, for reimbursement under the Recreation Policy.

As a reminder, the municipality now reimburses 100% of the surtax paid when registering for leisure activities, up to a maximum of $ 150 per child annually.
